Noriko Okaku
(eng) Born in 1979 in Kyoto, Okaku is a media artist who now lives and works in London. Okaku was educated at the Chelsea College of Art and Design between 2000-2003 where she received her BA Hons and at the Royal College of Art, completing her MA in Animation in 2005.
Her video works have been shown internationally such as at Festival Images Contre Nature, France; Magmart International Videoart Festival, CAM, Italy; Garage Center for
Contemporary Culture, Moscow. She is also known as an audio-visual performance artist. She has performed internationally, most recently in 2010 at the Museum of Image and Sound, Brazil; Circuito Off, Italy; Cimatics, Belgium; Design Museum, London. Best Audio Visual Performance Award, Videofestival Bochum, Germany, 2010 Beck’s Futures Student Prize, ICA, London, 2003.
