I was born in Lisbon, Portugal and raised in Massachusetts. My day to day was spent with Super Soakers and G.I Joe’s until a comic shop opened a few blocks away from my home and from then on it was impossible to spend 2 days without going there and staring at all the covers.

..a passion for comics, illustration and type was born. I eventually moved back to Lisbon and started taking art classes. That led to a Degree in Communication Design a few years later from the Superior School of Technologies and Arts of Lisbon. I am extremely impatient and that rubs onto my work, i can't draw in the same technique for more than three days without getting anxious and doodling in different forms, hence the different styles of illustration in my portfolio. In most of my work I enjoy using a language that rubs shoulder to shoulder with abstraction when in fact there is allot going on there, This aesthetic was born by taking a simple drawing exercise that everybody has done before (setting the tip of the pen to the paper and not lifting it until you finish intended drawing) but taking a step further and giving it a spontaneous feel. Color schemes are also a big part of this style. My past has a slight connection to graffiti and i guess mixing graffiti with lettering and a deep respect for the great type designers of the past i started developing a style that mixed all this together. I also enjoy drawing in fast, almost draft style because i believe that drawing shouldn't just capture the object but the moment as well and fast renderings sometimes have the rawness and appeal necessary for a great image and sometimes a simple pencil drawing is more effective than extensive CGI work, and there are ideas and images that pop up that have to be registered down fast before they vanish, these type of works are found in the light blue section of my portfolio. Well in a nutshell I guess that sums up my life / work. I now live in Switzerland with my Fiancée Laetitia and our Golden Retriever Indie who eats allot so if you have a project you think I could be useful to give me a shout out. Thank You for your time.
